Life in the Spirit Seminar

On Saturday, January 27, Aldersgate UMC, Rock Hill, SC will sponsor a Life In The Spirit Seminar (LISS).  This Seminar is open to the public and we hope that you will share this with your church members, either by a church wide email or as topic during your church service this Sunday.  Deadline for registration is Saturday January 13.

The LISS will be led by Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM).  The LISS is an exciting strategy designed to acquaint the participant with the person, the work, and the power of the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity), using scripture and personal testimony.  Every effort is made to see that the content is both scripturally balanced and Wesleyan in nature.  The LISS is designed to heighten awareness of the Spirit of God working in our personal lives and in the life of the church, to remove any barriers the participants might have to the Holy Spirit moving in their lives, and to create a greater openness to the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

On Saturday morning, team members will share on ten ministries of the Holy Spirit, (i.e., love, prayer, guidance). The afternoon teaching session centers around kingdom encounters in the book of Acts, as well as the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. On Saturday evening, the coordinator(s) will share personal testimonies regarding the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.  The evening closes with an opportunity for participants to be filled with the Spirit and to receive prayer and personal ministry from team members.  Lunch and dinner are included in the registration fee.

Attendees are also invited to attend one of the two Sunday worship services with the LISS coordinator giving the sermon.  In addition, during the Sunday School hour, LISS team members will teach and share in the adult classes.

Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM) is the working name of the United Methodist Renewal Services Fellowship, Inc.  ARM is a non-political and non-adversarial movement that is committed to equipping the local church to minister to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
